ABOUT
The Page's Webmaster
This is Smitty Smith, the wonderful, wise Webmaster. On top of my slave-driving
job as an insurance agent, I pretty much take care of this entire site:
the design, the content, the updates, the family research--everything.
(Okay, my
wife Mona helps just a very little bit too.)

About the Family Roots
Cairo - Monday 11/03/2002
Masry started successfully its first step in the African Cup with a 2-0 home victory against Kenyan Mathare United. The victory is not a sure sign of Masry’s qualification, but chances are high. Masry performed well only in the first half, and dominated the game and by scoring two goals. Ahmed Koshary scored the first goal, in the 24th minute, from a free kick in the area, after the referee had judged for a foul against the keeper for 6 seconds rule.
Even after the goal, Masry continued to attack and they were rewarded in the 38th minute through young striker, Moustafa Gaafar. Masry slowed down the rhythm of the game in the second half, and hardly attacked but they soon realized that they are encouraging the visitors so they pushed forward again. But unfortunately, they could not score and the score did not change.
